The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, one of the largest fraternal organizations in the United State with more than one million members was first established in the year 1865 in New York, New York. The Roseburg Elks Lodge is the 326th Lodge to be establish into the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in the City of Roseburg, Oregon on January 8th, 1896 and celebrated its 125th anniversary on January 8, 2021.


The Lodge has faithfully served the community of Roseburg, Oregon, as most of its 205 members reside locally and take pride in participating in area activities and projects for 125 years by the guiding principles of the Order of Charity, Brotherly Love, Justice and Fidelity for the benefit of the community and citizens.


Roseburg Elks Lodge #326 has demonstrated its patriotism by paying special tribute to veterans and service men and women on Flag Day since 1907, through our Flag Program which commemorates Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independents Day, Veterans Day and Presidents Day, by provided services and support to our Veteran community with programs and projects designed to help Veterans and their families and to aid homeless Veteran since 1946.


The Roseburg Elks Lodge also supported and sponsored the children of our community through a wide range of annual Elks programs that include: two $500 Elks Scholarships for higher education awarded, the Elks Americanism Essay Contest to encourage patriotism conducted, Drug Awareness Program teaching children the importance of remaining drug free through educational materials to grade school aged children, the Hoop Shoot program teaching children the importance of self-disciple and being goal oriented, the John Little’s Kids Back to School Shopping Spree helping children build positive self-esteem, and donations of school supplies and books to Roseburg schools.


The Elks also provided annual grants to Roseburg based charities through the Elks National Foundation to help support and maintain a well-rounded community.


Roseburg Elks Lodge #326 has demonstrated the tenacity to thrive in the community in light of adversity. Roseburg Lodge #326 has remained steadfast through two World Wars, the Korean War, the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan, the Roseburg Blast, and two pandemics, the 1918 Flu Pandemic and the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic.
